NEW Horizons Nigeria, a leading technology training and capacity-building organisation, has won the Most Innovative IT Training and Certification Solution Brand of the Year award at the 2025 African Brand Innovators Summit.
The award, presented during the summit held in Lagos, recognised the company’s 20-year commitment to developing globally competitive digital talent and advancing inclusive tech education across Nigeria.
AFRIBIS, in its citation, praised New Horizons Nigeria for the robustness of its training content, hands-on methodology, and efforts to link trainees with job opportunities through internship placements. The organisers described the firm’s approach as a benchmark for practical and impactful ICT education delivery on the continent.
Speaking on the recognition, the Managing Director of New Horizons Nigeria, Tim Akano, said the award reflects the institute’s long-standing dedication to empowering young Africans with globally relevant digital skills.
“Our mission is to equip the next generation of African leaders with transformative tech competencies that not only boost their competitiveness but also position them as drivers of innovation globally,” Akano said.
New Horizons Nigeria trains and certifies over 100,000 students annually across Nigerian universities and secondary schools in high-demand areas, including Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Analysis, Cloud Computing, Full Stack Development, Digital Marketing, and Project Management.
With a focus on inclusion, the company also offers 50–100 per cent scholarships to over 20,000 students each year, particularly targeting members of the National Youth Service Corps.
