NEW Horizons Nigeria and the Redeemed College of Technology and Management (RECTEM) have formally sealed a strategic partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The collaboration further underscores New Horizons’ commitment to driving digital transformation and preparing Nigerian students for global competitiveness in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).
Under the partnership, New Horizons will deliver international ICT certifications and hands-on training in cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, robotics, cybersecurity, data analytics, and other in-demand digital skills.
With this initiative, RECTEM becomes the first private college of technology in Nigeria to adopt this comprehensive 4IR- focused training model, aimed at significantly enhancing the employability and global relevance of its graduates.

Akano
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of New Horizons Nigeria, Tim Akano, assured stakeholders of the organisation’s capacity to deliver excellence. He highlighted New Horizons’ 43-year legacy as a U.S.-based international ICT training institution, with operations in over 90 countries and more than 400 centers worldwide. He reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to bridging the skills gap through practical, and industry-aligned training.
Also speaking at the event, the Rector of RECTEM, Prof. Izobo-Martins Oladunni Oluwatoyin, in her remarks, expressed her delight at the partnership, describing it as a timely and laudable initiative that will provide students with entrepreneurial and future-ready digital skills, which will enable them to compete favorably with their counterparts across the globe.
The event was graced by principal officers of the College, including Dr Sunday Onjewu, Registrar; F. A. Oyewole, Bursar; Dr Stella Egbowawa, ICT Director; and Enoch Aregbe, Dean of Student Affairs, alongside other distinguished guests.
Further strengthening its leadership in tech education, New Horizons also announced the onboarding of 13 new secondary schools into its already expansive network of over 150 educational partners nationwide. The newly added schools for the year include Kimberly Castle, Strong Towers, Fountain Point College, Fountain Point Primary School, Treasure Stone, Christ the King School College, Christ the King Primary School, Jextoban College Ibafo, Yabatech Secondary School, TOAMY, Divine Offspring, Divine Heritage Ibadan, CMS Grammar School, and Babington Macurly Junior Seminary. This development reinforces New Horizons’ long-term commitment in nurturing digital talent from an early stage and building a sustainable pipeline of future-ready professionals.

In a related development, New Horizons Nigeria also extended its impact to the university level through a landmark partnership with Monarch University, Ota, Ogun State. The historic collaboration, which took place on 20th January, 2026, focuses on International ICT Certifications and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Empowerment for students.
The Chancellor of Monarch University, Bishop Tom Samson, commended New Horizons for the partnership, noting that it would complement the University’s academic offerings across Basic and Applied Sciences, Management and Social Sciences, as well as the Humanities.
Also, as part of its annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at strengthening research and learning resources in Nigerian universities, New Horizons donated 250 high-end ICT courseware materials to the Monarch University Library. While receiving the materials, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Mrs.) Mopelola Omoegun, expressed profound appreciation to the management of New Horizons Nigeria. She stated that the gesture is strategic to enhancing teaching, research, innovation, and technological advancement within the University. The event was attended by other principal officers, including the Deputy Vice Chancellor, University Librarian, Head of the Department of Computer Science, and other senior officials.
